Jodi is a New Jersey transplant, hailing from Rye Brook, New York in Westchester County. Youngest of three children, she attended the State University of New York at Albany and received a Degree in Communications with a minor in Business. After she and her husband, Bernie, were engaged, they moved briefly to Montville, NJ, but shortly after moved to Wayne and joined Shomrei Torah when her oldest child began Hebrew School. Jodi and Bernie have been married for 18 years Jodi affirms that "Bernie is the best husband and father I could ever dream of" and they are the proud parents of Alex, 16 and Josh, 13.
Jodi puts her creativity and business acumen together as the owner of Memorable Creations by Jodi, LLC, a chocolate favor company. What started off as a hobby has evolved into a business and she makes themed items including hostess platters and gift towers.
Jodi credits her mother as having the most influence on her life. She explains, "She was the best mom and best friend to me and I miss her every day. She was my everything and was very close to my husband and my kids."
In 1988, Jodi was fortunate enough to go to Israel with most of her family and was very moved by everything she saw. It was a great experience and she feels very lucky that she was able to go and be connected to Jewish traditions and heritage.
Jodi has found her niche at Shomrei Torah for using her creativity and flair for design. She enjoys helping out whenever and wherever she can and the recent Purim Schpiel "Hang on Haman - The Adventure" was a stellar example. Jodi found her involvement in the production an experience that was both fun and very rewarding. "I like to entertain, so I felt like that's what I was doing, just not in my own home." Jodi looks upon Shomrei Torah an extension of her home...and wants for us to always look our best. Her hope for Shomrei Torah's future endeavors is one word "renovations." In the meantime, she is looking to the future and plans to be a major part of next year's Purim event. Shomrei Torah looks forward to your continued participation too!
