Our High Holiday Project, Operation Isaiah, is about to begin.  As a reminder, Operation Isaiah is our synagogue’s high holiday drive designed to collect large amounts of basic necessities for our local community pantry. During the Intermediate Days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, please purchase items from the following list and bring them to Shomrei Torah during office hours. Money or checks payable to the Wayne Interfaith Network and with Operation Isaiah written in the memo line can also be brought to synagogue for donation or mailed directly to WIN at PO BOX 3341 Wayne, NJ 07470-3341. All monies and goods must be brought to synagogue before the Kol Nidre service begins.
Sorting and transporting of the items will take place on September 19th at 4 pm in the Pittel Social Hall and volunteers will be needed. Sorting and packing will take 1 - 1 1/2 hours and then a few drivers will be needed to transport the items to the pantry annex. All adults, teens and supervised children are welcome to come help.
The following items are needed for collection from our synagogue:
Toilet paper, paper towels, paper napkins, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and bath soap.
Thanks for your support and Happy New Year!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
