Summary |
I grew up in Parsippany and attended the Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael for Hebrew school through USY.
I graduated was a BS degree from Cook College @ Rutgers University. I received an MA degree in Learning Disabilities from Fairleigh Dickinson University and also hold a licese as an LDT-C (Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant)
I taught for 10 years in a private school and lived in Somerset NJ. I moved back up north settling in Riverdale after accepting a teaching position in the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District and just completed my 24 year with them.
I enjoy swimming, hiking with my dog, Annie, and traveling in the summers. My mom, brothers, niece and nephew reside in North Carolina, while I alone remain in NJ with my dog Annie.
My family members have been my biggest cheerleaders as they encouraged me to reach for my dreams and find an occupation that I would find rewarding and enjoyable.
After my parents moved to NC, I needed to find a synagogue that I felt comfortable going to as a single adult. I found Shomrei to be a warm and inviting environment whose values aligned with my own.
I am currently serving as the Vice President of Education and Youth. I plan on continuing to be an active participant by participating in services and assisting the synagogue navigate the 21st century and beyond. I consider myself a spiritual person and love the Jewish traditions that were taught to me by my parents.
In my spare time, I red sailboats in the spinnaker division for 10 years, as wll as chartering sailboats and catamarans with friends for summer cation. I also enjoyed scuba diving throughout the Leeward and Windward Islands.
