UPDATE TO SHOMREI TORAH COVID POLICY

Dear Fellow Congregants,

I hope this email finds you and your families all happy, healthy and enjoying the summer! I am writing to inform you of our new Covid policy. After thoughtful consideration and discussion, the Board of Trustees has voted to change our most recent policy to mask optional.

Our past policy was based on Passaic County infection rates, but as things have continued to change since the pandemic started almost two and a half years ago, we feel that serious illness and hospitalization rates are more significant. Thankfully, those rates have been low. The unfortunate reality is that Covid is going to be with us for the foreseeable future, and slowly but surely the world around us has been opening up as people try to restore a sense of normalcy in their lives. At Shomrei Torah, we too are working hard to welcome our community back with a sense of normalcy.

For the high holidays, we will be offering a "mask only" section for those who choose. Of course, remote participation via our livestream remains an option, and as always, we ask that if you are not feeling well please stay home.

I wish you and your families a wonderful end of summer and Shabbat Shalom. I hope to see you all soon!

Warm regards,
Sheri Taback
