The United Synagogue of Conservative
Judaism has announced the creation of United Synagogue's Israel Commission. They are
planning to build a database in which all of our 750
synagogues are represented. The Commission will be multidimensional; both proactive and reactive.
They are now developing relevant, timely materials and services for member congregations. The
mission statement for the new Commission is as follows:
"The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism is deeply and passionately connected to the Land and the State of Israel."
We at Shomrei Torah are looking forward to receiving newsworthy information and programming from the
new Commission so that we may pass it on to you, our members. Shomrei Torah's Israel Affairs Liaison is Marlene Klein.
