2012 World Wide Wrap
The Shomrei Torah Men's Club is committed to fun, fund-raising and raising consciousness. Any man joining Shomrei Torah automatically becomes a member of the Men's Club for that year. Thereafter, membership can be renewed. All Shomrei Torah males are encouraged to join and enjoy the sense of brotherhood and camaraderie that Men's Club engenders. Like Sisterhood, the Men's Club is an integral part of synagogue life. To name only a few of its activities, it is responsible for putting up the sukkah, organizing the Purim Carnival, arranging the Yellow Candle Program for Yom Hashoah, offering the winter weekend getaway to the Catskills, sponsoring our annual Blood Drive, not to mention annual brunchs with speakers and two poker nights. Membership in Shomrei Torah's Men's Club carries with it automatic membership in the National Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs and all the wonderful publications and activities it offers.
National Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs
The National Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs is intended to strengthen the involvement of its members in the life of the congregation, to integrate and advance the congregational institutions, to promote a more thorough knowledge and appreciation of Jewish life, to stimulate social and cultural activities among the members and in the community at large, and to train knowledgeable leaders for the synagogue and the Jewish community.
Northern New Jersey Region Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs (Shomrei Torah, Club # 960)
The Northern New Jersey Region is the link between more than 30 Men's Clubs from Conservative synagogues in New Jersey and Staten Island and the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, which serves more than 200 affiliated Clubs in the United States, Canada, Israel and Germany and the Masorti communities of the United Kingdom and France. Together, we strive to increase the level of Jewish observance, participation in synagogue life and brotherhood among our members. We do this by sharing ideas and pooling our talents and resources. Men's Clubs play a key role in the quality of Jewish life in the synagogue. Our variety of activities, educational, service, social and athletic, are designed to draw men to synagogue and expand their horizons.
