Why is this night different than all other nights?
On this night we eat matzah and bitter herbs;
We dip parsely in salt water and horseradish in charoset;
And we recite at the table as we eat.

Go Down Moses

When Israel was in bondage oppressed on every hand,
God's law had all been broken and sorrow filled the land.
But when the sea did ripple, a voice began to shout,
"Go down to Egypt's troubled land and bring my people out!"

CHORUS:
Go down, Moses, go down in Egypt land.
Go down, Moses, and do as I command.
Remove all trace of bondage, no longer live in doubt.
Go down, Moses, and bring my people out.

He heard the Master speaking in gentle tones that day,
He heard Him saying, "Moses, go down and lead the way."
Then Moses took the message, and, at the Lord's command,
He went for every child of God in Egypt's troubled land.

CHORUS

Then Moses led God's children from Egypt's troubled land
Beyond the hills and valleys, across the desert sand.
And viewing Canaan's splendor, his heart was free from doubt,
He knew he'd done the Master's will by leading Israel out.

CHORUS

Had Gadya (One Little Goat)

One little goat, one little goat,
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came a cat and ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came a dog and bit the cat,
That ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came a stick and beat the dog,
That bit the cat
That ate the goat My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came a fire and burned the stick
That beat the dog
That bit the cat
That ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came the water and quenched the fire,
That burned the stick
That beat the dog
That bit the cat
That ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came an ox and drank the water,
That quenched the fire
That burned the stick
That beat the dog
That bit the cat
That ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came a shohet and slaughtered the ox,
That drank the water that quenched the fire
That burned the stick that beat the dog
That bit the cat that ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came the angel of death and killed the shohet,
That slaughtered the ox that drank the water
That quenched the fire that burned the stick
That beat the dog that bit the cat
That ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Then came the Holy One, blessed be He,
And slew the angel of death,
That killed the shohet that slaughtered the ox
That drank the water that quenched the fire
That burned the stick that beat the dog
That bit the cat that ate the goat
My father bought for two zuzim.
One little goat, one little goat.

Had God brought us out of Egypt
and not supported us in the wilderness
It would have been enough!
had God given us the Sabbath and not the Torah
It would have been enough!
Had God given us the Torah
and not brought us to the land of Israel
It would have been enough!
