A Place for Lifelong Learning
From "Torah for Tots" to Adult Education, we have something for
everyone at Shomrei Torah.
Our Religious School runs from preschool through twelfth grade.
Preschoolers attend "Torah for Tots" and children in K through grade 2 learn in our Sunday
school. Syngagogue membership is not required for either program. Membership is not
required for either program, though membership is required for Religious School
serving children in grades 3 through 7, and we offer Hebrew High School for students in
grades 8 through 12.
The curriculum is constantly revised to reflect new trends in Jewish education, while
maintaining a core
content designed to produce knowledgeable and caring Jewish community members and leaders.
Working in conjunction with the Principal and the Education Committee, the Rabbi
is actively involved in
all levels of the Religious School. Students forge a special bond with the
Rabbi prior to their Bar/Bat Mitzvah that continues on through their teen years.
Our religious school P.T.O.
sponsors holiday dinners and services as an adjunct to the educational experience.
However, learning does not stop with Bar/Bat Mitzvah or Confirmation. Our Rabbi and Adult
Education Committee
continue to develop programs committed to lifelong Jewish education. From courses in Hebrew
literacy to thought
provoking seminars and discussions, there is much to offer those seeking to enhance their
Jewish knowledge.
